..since my last journal entry. 3 years, 6 months and 14 days since my last piece of art.

Its really been three and a half year since I drew something? Where did the time go?

Well, I decided I want to get back to doing some more creative stuff. So what did I do? I bought some motivation:

Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro 700t
A Windows 8 Tablet with an 11.6" 1080P screen, Intel I-5 CPU, and Wacom digitizer.

The hope is that it will allow me to work on stuff away from my desk, such as in the living room while watching TV, or at friends/family. I've been taking it to work and messing with it on my lunch break. So, other than being an awesome little toy, I'm really hoping it will allow my to be more productive. It runs the two programs I want/need most - Photoshop and Excel - pretty well.  Though really, I think I bought it so I wouldn't have to clean my bedroom just us my computer. Its very discouraging to want to do art when your work station is buried...

And so, here I am back at dA. Unfortunately most of the people I knew and knew well are inactive. After looking around here for a while I went over to the Anothartist forum (where quite a few ex-MangaRevolution members hung out) and it was really dead, too. I actually got quite depressed. It didn't seem like it was that long ago. What have I been doing this entire time? Nothing, that's what...

Now for the really tough part: remembering how to do art... Its been so long that I don't really know what I am doing in Photoshop anymore. I'm pretty much going to have to re-learn a lot and it will probably be a while before I post any artwork.

As extra motivation I also purchased some web hosting and put my website back up. www.lillejordart.com its exactly the same as the day MangaRevolution went offline. MR was my web host and when ~augustc4 took it offline my site went off line as well. I'm hoping this will give me motivation to learn web design again.
